Job description
Position Overview
The Dishwasher will play a key support role for the Management Team by thoroughly cleaning all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans, and returning them to their designated places. Tasks also include daily thorough cleaning of the Meat room and prep areas, managing waste disposal, and maintaining cleanliness and organization around the back dock and garbage areas. Additionally, the role may involve assisting with basic food preparation and receiving and storing incoming food deliveries.
Qualifications & Education
Preferred candidates are those working toward a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Experience & Skills
- Previous dishwashing or busser experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Capability to handle the demanding pace and rigor of a busy restaurant environment.
- Strong teamwork skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Maintain a tidy and organized work style.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Must be physically able to use legs, feet, arms, and hands effectively, including walking, standing, and carrying loads up to 50 pounds.
- Normal vision and hearing abilities, with corrective devices if necessary.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, perform basic math, and operate efficiently under pressure.
Working Environment
This role functions within a kitchen setting that involves certain hazards such as hot surfaces, slippery floors, sharp objects, heavy lifting, and use of various kitchen machinery like slicers and mixers. The atmosphere is often noisy and semi-hazardous. Working hours are scheduled weekly by management with typical shifts during dinner service, five days per week.
Reporting Structure
The Dishwasher reports to the Corporate Chef, Chef, Sous Chef, and other members of the management team.
