Job Overview
The role of Dishwasher at PJ Whelihan's Pub + Restaurant in Medford Lakes, NJ, is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of all dining and kitchenware to support seamless food preparation and service. This position reports to the Assistant Kitchen Manager or Kitchen Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean flatware, glassware, pots, pans, and tableware using both machine and manual methods.
- Organize and store all sanitized items appropriately for use.
- Keep the dishwashing area tidy and orderly.
- Manage trash removal by sorting, replacing bags, and cleaning bins as necessary.
- Assist in preparing and portioning food prior to cooking under managerial guidance.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the parking lot daily under all weather conditions.
- Handle loading and unloading of deliveries, storing items correctly while rotating stock as required.
- Support food preparation during slower periods as needed.
- Assist with proper kitchen closing procedures and adhere to closing checklists.
- Participate in employee meetings and contribute improvement suggestions.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Clear communication skills with management and team members.
- Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Capable of standing for extended periods (up to 9 hours).
Compensation and Benefits
Pay rate ranges from $17 to $18 per hour.
