Position Overview

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in our high-volume commissary kitchen by ensuring all dishes and kitchenware are thoroughly cleaned and stored. This position also entails maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen floors, surfaces, office spaces, and restrooms, supporting safe and hygienic working conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and glassware used by kitchen staff, ensuring they are sanitized and free from food residue.
• Organize and store all cleaned items in their designated locations including shelves, cabinets, and drawers.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Sanitize kitchen countertops, sinks, stoves, and empty trash following company procedures.
• Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify management of any equipment malfunctions or shortages.
• Perform light food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in bathrooms including sanitizing fixtures and replenishing supplies.
• Clean and organize office areas, including furniture and floors, and ensure trash bins are emptied and liners replaced.
• Sweep and mop shared hallways and ensure proper disposal of waste and recycle bins throughout the facility.
• Follow hygiene and safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment when handling chemicals.
• Report maintenance issues related to plumbing or cleaning equipment to management promptly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dishwashing or janitorial duties is preferred but not mandatory.
• Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail for cleaning and organization.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and health & safety procedures.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks involving bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Reliable daily transportation is required.

Working Conditions

• Physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and walking.
• Work shifts may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Adherence to all workplace safety regulations particularly in handling cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage between $20.00 and $22.00 with performance-based incentives.
