Job Summary

The Dishwasher role is tasked with upholding cleanliness and sanitary standards for various kitchenware including china, glassware, tableware, and cooking utensils. This involves the use of both machine and manual cleaning techniques while maintaining the dishwashing area as a hygienic and safe workspace.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Separate and rinse soiled dishes, glassware, and utensils, then load them into racks for dishwashing machines.
• Organize clean dishes by stacking and transporting them to cooking stations or storage; rewash any soiled items before delivery.
• Replace dishmachine water every hour to maintain hygiene standards.
• Hand wash larger kitchen items such as pots, pans, and trays.
• Dispose of trash by transferring it to the dumpster.
• Set up and dismantle dishwashing stations as required.
• Clean and manage mats by rolling and unrolling them.
• Fill and empty soaking tubs with appropriate sanitizing and cleaning solutions.
• Sweep and mop floors regularly to maintain cleanliness.
• Assemble and disassemble the dishwashing machine to ensure proper operation.
• Remove trash from the restaurant exterior and dumpster areas.
• Perform general cleaning duties including restaurant and restroom maintenance.
• Immediately address spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and safe.
• Alert management if dish machine wash or rinse temperatures fall below safety requirements.

Working Conditions

This position is based in a kitchen environment involving frequent use of sinks, dishwashers, and cleaning tools. The role exposes employees to hot water, slick surfaces, garbage disposals, and various cleaning chemicals.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, or kneeling.
• Frequent lifting/moving of items up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds.
• Essential vision capabilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Schedule and Travel

This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a variable schedule depending on business demands. No travel is expected.
