About the Role

This full-time Dishwasher position at Ciel Senior Living requires maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene levels for all kitchenware including china, glassware, utensils, and cooking tools through both manual and machine washing techniques. You will ensure that the dishwashing area remains clean, organized, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrive on time consistently and reliably for scheduled shifts.
• Clear and reset tables or counters after meal courses.
• Assist residents with their dining arrangements if needed.
• Provide courteous and timely service in the dining environment.
• Operate the dishwashing machine and manage the setup and breakdown of the dishwashing station.
• Ensure infection control by maintaining sanitizer and dish machine temperature logs.
• Clean dishes, kitchen equipment, food preparation tools, and utensils manually or using the dishwasher.
• Store cleaned items properly in designated areas.
• Sort and rinse used dishes, glassware, and utensils before placing them in racks for machine washing.
• Restack clean dishes and deliver them to the cooking line and storage areas, rewashing any soiled items as needed.
• Change dishwater in the machine every two hours, or before washing glasses or tableware.
• Hand wash pots, pans, and trays.
• Support cooks with meal serving, plating, and food preparation tasks when necessary.
• Maintain kitchen floor cleanliness by wiping spills promptly and sweeping or mopping floors; manage mats properly.
• Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions.
• Carry out additional assigned duties.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Basic familiarity with kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Possession of a valid Food Handler’s card and adherence to state-mandated health regulations.
• Commitment to maintaining a hygienic, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Positive and appropriate communication with residents, families, volunteers, and staff members.
• Genuine compassion and interest in working with senior citizens.
• Availability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Current CPR and/or First Aid certification maintained as per state requirements.
• Successful completion of criminal background and fingerprint checks.
• Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands

• Ability to walk and stand continuously during shifts.
• Capable of working inside and outside the facility.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Lift and carry weights constantly between 0-10 pounds and frequently between 11-50 pounds.
• Push objects with weights constantly 0-10 pounds and frequently 11-50 pounds.
• Frequent stair climbing with elevator use as an alternative.
• Regular bending at the waist, knees, hips, and spine, often handling weights of 25 pounds or more.
• Frequent squatting to reach below knee level while lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional twisting or rotating at trunk, hips, knees, and neck with weights of 25 pounds or more.
• Frequent reaching including occasional overhead reach handling weights up to 10 pounds and below waist reach with weights above 25 pounds.
