Job Overview

The Dish Washer is tasked with cleaning, sanitizing, and arranging dishes, kitchen utensils, cookware, and other kitchen equipment in an efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools effectively.
• Support bussing tables and tidying dining areas as needed.
• Participate in general cleaning and sanitation duties when assigned.
• Dispose of garbage following safety guidelines.
• Notify supervisors promptly about incidents and hazardous situations.
• Adhere to established safety rules, company policies, and procedures.
• Discourage risky behaviors within the team and self-monitor safety practices.
• Collaborate closely with coworkers to complete work tasks.
• Perform repetitive tasks consistently and effectively.
• Ensure the workspace remains tidy and organized.
• Follow all protocol, company policies, and procedural rules.
• Accept guidance and respond to directions from supervisors.
• Communicate professionally with team leads, supervisors, colleagues, managers, and customers.
• Step in to cover roles during staffing shortages.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment correctly.
• Maintain a professional demeanour and appearance.
• Understand the importance of customer service and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Successful candidates should meet the essential duties safely and effectively with the following background:

• No formal education is mandatory; candidates with 3 to 6 months of training or related experience are preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• Completion of relevant safety and task training certifications is expected.

Knowledge and Abilities

• Familiarity with food handling, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Competence in thoroughly and efficiently performing cleaning tasks.
• Bilingual skills are an advantage.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, manuals, and procedural documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Understanding of cleaning techniques, equipment handling, and willingness to share knowledge across the team.
• Awareness of maintenance and care of cleaning apparatus.
• Knowledge about various cleaning agents, chemicals, and their safe and effective usage.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Employees must be capable of sitting, talking, and listening frequently, as well as lifting or moving up to 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to support individuals with disabilities.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range offered is $20.82 to $22.00 per hour. Comprehensive benefits are provided through the employer.
