Role Overview
This part-time, on-site Disability Support Worker position is located in Campbelltown, NSW. Responsibilities include aiding participants with personal care, preparing meals, domestic chores, and medication reminders as needed. You will support involvement in community outings, appointments, socializing, and recreational activities, helping participants to develop skills and confidence. The role requires implementing personalized support plans, thorough documentation of progress, and effective communication with all stakeholders. Adherence to health and safety standards, maintaining professional boundaries, and promoting an inclusive environment that respects rights and choices are key aspects.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven ability to provide individualized support including personal care and community engagement.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with participants, their families, and team members.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating good time management and dependability.
- Knowledge of disability rights, safeguarding principles, and maintaining professional boundaries, with a strong dedication to dignity and inclusion.
- Competency in documentation, record-keeping, precise incident reporting, and progress note writing.
- Possession or in-progress qualification in Disability, Community Services, Individual Support, or related areas (Certificate III or higher preferred).
- Current certifications in First Aid and CPR or willingness to complete these.
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle access, and ability to pass any relevant background checks such as NDIS Worker Screening and Working With Children Check.
- Previous experience in disability, aged care, or community support fields is highly valued.
Minimum education
Diploma / ITI / Vocational
