Director, Strategy, Transformation & Performance

Overview

We are recruiting a Director of Strategy, Transformation & Performance to spearhead a strategic project within an Abu Dhabi government entity. This leadership position demands stewardship over the organization's enterprise strategy, performance monitoring, and transformation initiatives to ensure alignment with government priorities and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the development, updating, and dissemination of the enterprise strategy, converting government and leadership directives into actionable goals, plans, and initiatives.
• Provide expert advice to senior leadership on strategic priorities and critical company decisions.
• Conduct strategic analysis, benchmarking exercises, and review regulatory or policy frameworks relevant to the entity.
• Transform strategic plans into a cohesive portfolio of initiatives, including digital projects, and manage portfolio governance structures such as decision-making processes, stage-gates, progress reporting, and tracking benefits.
• Oversee the implementation of cross-functional strategic initiatives by mitigating risks, resolving dependencies, and addressing escalations.
• Manage the performance management system, including key performance indicators (KPIs), targets, scorecard creation, and regular reviews; take accountability for government performance reporting.
• Deliver quarterly comprehensive performance and progress reports to senior leadership.
• Design and promote approaches to process excellence and continuous improvement, while sponsoring government excellence evaluations.
• Lead the department team development and foster alignment among internal and government stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years' experience in enterprise strategy, transformation, PMO, governance, performance management, public sector advisory, or management consulting roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading strategic formulation and advising executive leadership (C-suite or equivalent).
• Proven success in converting strategic plans into governed initiatives, detailed implementation roadmaps, and quantifiable results.
• Expertise in portfolio governance, performance measurement, process improvement, or operational excellence programs.
• Experience in government or semi-government organizations, real estate, or regulated industries is highly preferred; exposure to GCC markets is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, public policy, management, or related fields; postgraduate qualifications are preferred.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; strong Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
