Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Software Engineering to lead the Mastercard Foundry R&D Team in Dublin, focusing on Quantum, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives. This role demands leadership of an agile, innovation-driven team dedicated to developing cutting-edge products, delivering scalable solutions, and pioneering what is possible across global markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of skilled engineers to deliver software projects using agile and AI-enhanced development processes.
- Define application requirements and customizations while ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
- Integrate solutions encompassing Quantum computing and AI/ML technologies with software engineering practices.
- Design scalable solutions, perform research, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Oversee project management, reporting, and execution of software initiatives within the team.
- Represent the team in internal and external events to foster innovation and engagement.
- Provide leadership by supervising multiple leaders or consultants and drive the achievement of business goals.
- Ensure goal setting and performance appraisals are complied with and facilitate identification and development of top talent.
- Establish a culture of creativity and challenge the status quo to encourage continuous innovation.
- Serve as a senior authority on complex software engineering decisions and project management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts including data scientists, engineers, quality assurance, and UI/UX professionals to deliver projects successfully.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in software engineering and project delivery.
- Proficiency in working alongside experts in Quantum computing, AI, machine learning, or data science is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Python and Jupyter environments, including production deployment.
- Familiarity deploying technologies in virtualized infrastructure such as Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art AI development tools and AI-assisted software engineering practices.
- Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
Corporate Security Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to Mastercard’s security policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all accessed information.
- Promptly report any suspected security breaches or violations.
- Complete all mandated security training as directed by Mastercard guidelines.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
