About the Role
Join a progressive, growing mental health organization dedicated to people-centered care and continuous improvement. As the Director of Software Engineering, you will lead software teams with a focus on delivering robust, secure, and innovative technology solutions aligned with Homewood Health's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of software initiatives across engineering teams.
- Develop and enforce engineering standards, governance, and processes to ensure high quality and consistent delivery.
- Oversee software quality assurance, platform reliability, production support, and manage incident response and operational metrics.
- Track and analyze delivery and technology performance metrics to identify risks and optimize outcomes.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for technical and operational issues.
- Mentor and grow engineering leaders and team members fostering a high-performance culture.
- Promote inclusiveness and collaboration consistent with organizational values.
- Identify skills and capability gaps and implement training and development strategies.
- Support organizational change efforts and contribute to the growth and maturity of the Digital Solutions division.
- Partner with Product, PMO, Clinical Operations, and other leaders for strategy alignment and prioritization.
- Communicate technical strategies and risks clearly to varied audiences.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory obligations in a regulated environment.
- Manage relationships with vendors and third-party technology providers, overseeing service quality and risk.
- Represent Digital Solutions in executive reports, due diligence, and RFP/RFI processes.
- Collaborate with the EVP & CTO and Architecture teams to define engineering strategy and best practices.
- Evaluate technology investments and determine build-versus-buy decisions.
- Promote engineering practices that emphasize scalability, security, maintainability, and alignment with long-term business goals.
- Contribute to enterprise technology roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- At least eight years of progressive experience in software engineering or technology delivery roles.
- Minimum four years of leadership experience managing software engineers, engineering managers, or technical teams.
- Proven track record with enterprise-scale software platforms and partnership with project or program management.
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated sectors is preferred.
- Experience managing organizational growth, change, or scaling efforts is beneficial.
