Role Overview
Join Qiddiya Investment Company as the Director of Risk, contributing to managing risk across varied development projects in the hospitality sector. This leadership position is crucial for creating and maintaining detailed risk registers and reports that inform strategic decisions for diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously enhance the risk management framework, procedures, templates, and processes for the Qiddiya Program.
- Supervise risk identification and evaluation across real estate development and construction projects covering financial, operational, technical, and legal domains.
- Perform regular risk assessments and scenario analyses to anticipate exposures for current and future projects.
- Maintain and regularly update comprehensive risk registers and databases.
- Design and enforce mitigation plans for significant risks, ensuring effective corrective measures reduce or eliminate exposure.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to embed risk management practices throughout project implementation.
- Lead periodic risk reporting, including establishing key risk indicators (KRIs) to track project risk profiles.
- Track and escalate emerging risks through all project phases promptly.
- Provide ongoing updates and insights on evolving risk factors that may affect project outcomes.
- Mentor and lead the risk management team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Guide the execution of the Program and Portfolio risk management plans and ensure comprehensive risk registers and dashboards are created and maintained.
- Verify that risk data collection and assessments are performed comprehensively for all program and project elements.
- Supervise identification and monitoring of risk treatments across all projects, including enforcing effective review processes.
- Deliver necessary risk management training and support to program and project teams.
- Identify shifts in risk profiles or environmental factors that could affect risk treatment efficacy.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and auditing of risk management plans and procedures, evaluating risk maturity across executive portfolios.
- Review and approve quantitative risk modeling reports such as Quantitative Schedule and Cost Risk Analyses.
- Work with project teams to integrate risk controls into planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in fields such as risk management, construction management, business studies, finance, or related areas.
- Preferred professional certifications include Chartered Risk Analyst (CRA), Certified Risk Management Professional (CEMP), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in risk management with emphasis on real estate development, construction, or large infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years on mega project construction/development.
- Demonstrated success in implementing risk strategies at senior management levels.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a capacity to influence and direct project teams.
- Proactive, analytical, and strategic thinking approach to risk management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk management tools, regulatory guidelines, and frameworks relevant to construction and development projects.
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic vision with forward-thinking approaches to mitigate risk.
- Financial insight with understanding of project financing risks.
- Experience working with Active Risk Management (ARM) software is an advantage.
