Director, Risk (Del 1)

Role Overview

The Director of Risk within the Development and Delivery portfolio will analyze data from multiple subdistricts and projects, providing the Senior Director of Risk with current and relevant assurance and compliance insights to support leadership decisions in one of Qiddiya's largest business units.

This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Risk and requires extensive experience handling large-scale programs or projects in a risk management capacity. The Director must effectively communicate at the executive level and collaborate with peers and teams to ensure timely data availability in accordance with established schedules and leadership requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold and demonstrate the organization's "Safety First" value, including authority to stop work if necessary and active participation in health, safety, and well-being standards.
• Model leadership behaviors aligned with company values.
• Foster a proactive risk culture within integrated Development and Delivery project teams across the division.
• Implement Risk Management policies, processes, procedures, and controls at the Subdistrict level.
• Contribute to the enterprise business unit’s (EBU) N-1 Risk Management cycle by identifying, evaluating, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting risks using inputs from subdistricts or projects (N-2 level).
• Serve as a subject matter expert on qualitative and quantitative risk management processes at the subdistrict level.
• Assist in establishing and embedding key performance indicators (KPIs) on risk reporting platforms to monitor risk performance effectively across the business unit.
• Support ongoing professional development for all risk personnel through regular engagement and communication.
• Provide advisory guidance to enable risk-informed decision-making across business functions as needed.
• Facilitate policy and compliance audits by coordinating with internal and external auditors.
• Collaborate with other functional leaders and key project stakeholders to align risk management efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree or equivalent professional training and experience in risk management or related fields.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles within development and delivery portfolios.
• Strong proficiency in Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet).
• Advanced knowledge and usage experience of risk management software platforms such as ARM, Safran Risk, Risk Hive, or similar.
• Proven organizational, time management, resourcefulness, and communication skills with a track record of both teamwork and independent work success.
• Experience creating portfolio-level and program-level reports.
• Adept at prioritizing and coordinating tasks with multiple stakeholders.
• Effective communicator in culturally diverse environments.
• Excellent team collaboration and leadership aptitude with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
• Expert understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk management methodologies.
• Previous leadership roles in risk management within program or project management office (PMO/PMC) structures.
• Demonstrated skills in communication and presentations at senior levels.
• Academic qualifications including a Bachelor's degree in risk management, engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
• Professional membership in recognized risk management bodies such as IRM or RMIA.
