Role Overview
This position serves as the chief strategist and technical authority responsible for securing the company’s entire software suite. The Director bridges in-depth offensive security practices and executive-level governance while fostering a culture of "Security-First" engineering which emphasizes rapid development alongside strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a long-term product security vision prioritizing proactive defenses over reactive fixes.
- Establish a "Security Champions" initiative encompassing engineering teams to promote shared security ownership.
- Communicate complex security risks clearly to C-level executives and Board members, positioning security as a business enabler.
- Architect and oversee integration of static, dynamic, and software composition analysis tools within automated CI/CD workflows including GitHub, GitLab, and Jenkins.
- Lead cross-disciplinary teams conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and sophisticated Red Team simulations for web, mobile, and network assets.
- Manage cloud security posture across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments using Cloud Security Posture Management to avoid misconfigurations.
- Provide decisive reviews of security architecture for critical product features.
- Ensure accountability through detailed KPI tracking, SLA compliance, and vulnerability remediation processes.
- Oversee budgeting and vendor negotiations while optimizing the security technology stack.
- Direct hiring, mentorship, and performance evaluations for a global team of security engineers and researchers.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 10 years in cybersecurity with at least 5 years in leadership or management roles.
- Expert knowledge of OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, and cloud-native security architectures.
- Strong background managing Red Teams and advanced penetration testing programs.
- Extensive hands-on experience with security tools such as Snyk, Checkmarx, Wiz, Prisma Cloud, and Burp Suite.
- Educational credentials include B.Tech or M.Tech in computer science or related fields; professional certifications like CISSP, CISM, OSCP, or OSCE are highly desirable.
