Overview
This executive-level position offers a leadership role in a well-established Singapore-based organization, responsible for guiding software engineering strategy and transformation. The role oversees multiple teams and diverse technology domains, blending enterprise-level oversight with hands-on knowledge of contemporary engineering approaches and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the enterprise-wide software engineering strategy and associated operating models.
- Design software architecture and define long-term platform direction.
- Enhance software delivery mechanisms, including SDLC, quality assurance, and automation processes.
- Strengthen application security, maintain operational resilience, and ensure high service reliability.
- Formulate engineering standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across engineering teams.
- Promote observability, accountability in production, and operational excellence throughout engineering operations.
- Drive initiatives to boost productivity, leveraging automation and artificial intelligence.
- Investigate AI-native and autonomous technologies relevant to software engineering.
- Develop the engineering talent pool through leadership coaching, mentoring, and planning for succession.
- Collaborate with senior business and technology leaders to inform strategic technology decisions.
Candidate Profile
- Proven extensive leadership experience in senior roles within software or platform engineering.
- Expertise managing multiple engineering teams and leading senior technology professionals.
- Robust background in enterprise architecture, distributed systems, and modern software engineering methodologies.
- Hands-on knowledge of microservices architectures, service mesh technologies, and observability tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and/or GCP GKE.
- Sound understanding of SRE principles, incident response, system resilience, and capacity planning.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex environments requiring high availability or subject to regulatory oversight.
- Strong executive presence combined with advanced stakeholder engagement and management skills.
- Academic qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, ICT, or a cognate field.
- Preferably acquainted with financial markets infrastructure, such as trading, clearing, or settlement systems.
