Job description
About the Company and Role
Join one of the UK's fastest-growing technology-enabled property companies that has created a market-leading proprietary platform simplifying complex property sector administration. The platform integrates with third-party systems and external service providers streamlining historically fragmented, manual processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and commercial benefit.
The rapidly expanding company employs over 50 people, serves thousands of customers, and achieves around 50% year-over-year growth from an eight-figure turnover. Having firmly established itself in its main market, it is now expanding into adjacent sectors, new consumer offerings, and additional channels, many leveraging the existing operational platform.
This leadership role offers the chance not just to manage growth but to intelligently scale the company’s operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop a scalable operational framework that supports rapid growth without proportional increases in complexity, inefficiency, or headcount.
- Take a holistic view of the operating model to identify areas where growth has relied on added resources rather than process redesign.
- Implement repeatable, resilient processes compatible with rapid customer, transaction, and product growth while maintaining entrepreneurial agility.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to use KPIs and demand forecasts for resource planning, balancing recruitment with process improvements, automation, and AI opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous process evaluation to eliminate friction, duplication, bottlenecks, and manual interventions, establishing clear accountability and data-driven business cases for enhancements.
- Own the implementation of identified process improvements and operational changes, delivering measurable results.
- Partner closely with Technology and Product teams to identify automation and AI opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, and outcomes.
- Provide operational performance insights through meaningful KPIs and data analytics linking operations to revenue, margin, customer outcomes, and business value.
- Lead and develop existing Technical Operations and Customer Service teams, enhancing accountability, service quality, knowledge transfer, and scalability.
- Manage relationships with external commercial and service partners ensuring processes remain scalable and efficient as new products and markets are introduced.
- Integrate cross-functional priorities and delivery without excess bureaucracy to ensure scalable innovation.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive senior operational leadership experience within fast-growth SMEs or scale-ups, ideally in technology-enabled services (e.g., SaaS, PropTech, FinTech, EnergyTech, payments, utilities, marketplaces).
- Proven ability to scale organizations effectively through rapid growth phases.
- Strong expertise in process improvement, change management, and operational transformations.
- Commercially and analytically skilled, capable of leveraging data to guide decisions and link operational improvements to business performance.
- Experience in deploying automation and technology to enhance productivity and scalability.
- Effective collaboration across Operations, Technology, Product, Commercial, and Customer functions.
- Confidence as a senior leadership team member, personally driving change from conception to outcome.
Desirable Attributes
While direct AI expertise is not essential, candidates should be digitally curious, experimental, and believe in leveraging emerging technology to improve business operations.
Ideal candidates are entrepreneurial, proactive, accountable, commercially focused, data fluent, assertive yet ego-free, pragmatic, adaptable to ambiguity, and comfortable both challenging and being challenged within senior teams.
Why Join?
This role offers the chance to join a well-established, successful technology company in a period of exceptional growth. The Director of Operations will work closely with an entrepreneurial senior leadership team to shape automation and AI strategies, support new market expansion, and build the operational foundations needed for future growth.
