Role Overview

As the Director of DevOps, you will spearhead the strategic direction, architecture, roadmap, and operational model for the enterprise DevOps platform ecosystem at CPP Investments. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Cloud Platforms, you will lead a cross-functional team and act as the Product Owner and Technology Area Lead for DevOps. Your mandate includes promoting engineering excellence, boosting platform adoption, advancing DevSecOps, automation, and integrating AI-driven software delivery across the Technology & Data division.

Team Context

The Cloud Platforms team delivers scalable, secure, and resilient technology platforms to empower Technology & Data teams to efficiently provide enterprise capabilities. Specifically, the DevOps group ensures a modern developer experience, enabling software build, security, testing, release, and operation at scale. It manages enterprise CI/CD, Quality Engineering tools, developer tooling, and generative AI capabilities for developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and steer the enterprise DevOps platform with comprehensive accountability for strategy, product vision, architecture, roadmap, and capabilities, encompassing CI/CD, Quality Engineering, Infrastructure as Code, secure coding, secrets management, container orchestration, observability, workflow management, AI-driven developer tools, and middleware platforms.

  • Advocate and implement an AI-first approach to software delivery by streamlining, automating, and enabling agentic workflows throughout the software development lifecycle, while ensuring governance, risk management, cost optimization, and value assessment.
  • Lead initiatives in DevSecOps by embedding secure-by-design principles, automated quality and security checks, and early defect detection in cooperation with Information Security teams—all while preserving developer experience and production stability.
  • Manage the DevOps platform as a product by establishing roadmaps, defining initiatives, setting Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and monitoring metrics such as developer satisfaction, cycle time, adoption rates, reliability, performance, failure rates, recovery times, automation coverage, and value delivery.
  • Oversee platform availability, resiliency, observability, capacity, incident response, operational readiness, audit compliance support, remediation efforts, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, licensing, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, recruitment, and development for a high-caliber multidisciplinary team including managed service partners; foster strong senior stakeholder engagement to drive enterprise-wide adoption and facilitate organizational transformation.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of pertinent technology experience with increasing leadership roles in areas such as DevOps, Platform Engineering, Quality Engineering, cloud infrastructure, developer experience, or software engineering.
  • Extensive expertise in enterprise DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Quality Engineering encompassing CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, cloud-native solutions, observability platforms, secrets management, container deployments, Infrastructure as Code, and software delivery governance.
  • Proficient with enterprise tools and platforms like AWS, Terraform, GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, SonarQube, HashiCorp Vault, Artifactory, Argo CD, Elastic Observability, Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, developer experience, and integrating AI-augmented software delivery practices, ensuring delivery velocity, software quality, usability, and system stability.
  • Proven leadership capabilities encompassing people management, stakeholder engagement, vendor oversight, financial governance, roadmap ownership, technology lifecycle management, contracts, licensing, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Experience guiding Agile product delivery and engineering practices; prior exposure to financial services, asset management, pension fund technology or other complex enterprise technology environments is advantageous.
