Job Overview

We are seeking a Directeur Général (General Manager) for a client in the construction sector, based in Cotonou, Benin. The role involves structuring, organizing, and ensuring profitability of the company’s operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish and manage operational organization.
• Prepare and monitor budgets for each construction site.
• Plan and oversee ongoing construction projects.
• Approve technical studies.
• Set up and operate the concrete/prefabrication unit.
• Drive sales growth of concrete products.
• Plan and execute real estate construction projects.
• Control costs and manage cash flow.
• Build and develop a high-performing team.
• Implement management procedures.
• Expand external client base.
• Prepare the company for medium-term entry into the public works market.
• Maintain relationships with external partners including banks, real estate developers, consulting firms, architects, and subcontractors.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Public Works or equivalent technical higher education.
• 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
• Practical experience in building construction, concrete prefabrication, materials industry, or SME start-up/development in the construction sector.
• Operational mindset with strong rigor.
• Results-driven approach.
• Good negotiation skills.
