Position Overview
This permanent position seeks a tax professional with a strong affinity for technology who enjoys enhancing processes and collaborating across departments. The Direct Tax Manager role requires a blend of deep corporate income tax knowledge, leadership skills, sound judgment, and a focus on continuous improvement.
This role is part of a global tax team, supporting corporate income tax provision and compliance for entities throughout EMEA, Canada, and Latin America. The individual will hold managerial responsibility for specific entities and deliverables, interfacing closely with Finance and Accounting, as well as coordinating work with external advisors. Key objectives include fostering responsibility, teamwork, and high standards of execution while promoting efficient processes and leveraging technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage corporate income tax compliance for assigned entities across EMEA, Canada, and Latin America, including overseeing tax returns, transfer pricing forms, and necessary supporting documentation.
- Coordinate and manage external advisors by defining clear expectations and timelines, reviewing their work for accuracy, and ensuring timely filing.
- Prepare and review tax payment calculations, secure approvals, and facilitate prompt settlement of tax liabilities.
- Lead and review current and deferred tax provision calculations and associated notes for statutory financial reports, in coordination with the Accounting team.
- Support consolidated tax reporting under US GAAP on a quarterly and annual basis, including tax provision and return-to-provision computations alongside deferred tax reconciliations.
- Maintain meticulous review processes and documentation for all deliverables, ensuring compliance with control frameworks and audit standards.
- Stay updated on corporate income tax legislation and regulatory changes, evaluate their impacts, and assist in their implementation.
- Support or lead tax audit processes involving coordination of data, review of technical positions, and collaboration with advisors.
- Champion process enhancements, standardization, and automation in tax compliance and reporting activities utilizing systems, tracking tools, and data technologies.
- Contribute to tax planning initiatives and collaborate on cross-functional projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 7 years of pertinent direct tax experience, ideally gained in multinational companies, large accounting firms, or specialized tax consultancy.
- Proven expertise in corporate income tax provisions and compliance involving multiple countries, with particular value placed on experience in EMEA and Canadian tax laws.
- Possession of a professional tax or accounting qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent.
- Familiarity with both current and deferred tax accounting principles; experience in US GAAP tax reporting is preferable.
- Strong track record managing external service providers, juggling multiple deadlines, and nurturing stakeholder relations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with proven cross-functional collaboration within diverse international teams.
- Tech-savvy with a history of driving process improvements; familiarity with SAP, Longview Tax Provision, and AI tools is advantageous.

This role may require on-site onboarding and identity verification. Salary range for similar roles in Ireland is from 68,000 to 99,000 EUR annually, with the potential for bonuses, stock grants, and comprehensive benefits based on experience and location.
