About the Role

Help at Home is actively seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their homes and local communities. Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with essential daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, grooming, and transportation.
• Encourage and support participation in social and community engagements including shopping trips and social functions.
• Help individuals pursue personal objectives and recognize their achievements.
• Promote autonomy, informed choices, and self-advocacy skills.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided, client activities, and progress notes.
• Collaborate with team members through effective communication to deliver consistent, high-quality support.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational credential.
• Successful completion of background checks and any mandated training programs.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license alongside reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and respectfully within clients’ residences and community environments.
• A genuine commitment to compassion, dependability, and positively impacting others’ lives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.
• Knowledgeable in applying foundational behavior support strategies such as redirection, visual cues, and modifying the environment to aid clients.
• Familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS) implementation.
