Position Overview

The Digital Trust & Privacy Consultant will play a critical advisory role supporting organisations in navigating the intricate regulatory environment surrounding data privacy, AI governance, and internet law. As regulators strengthen frameworks and organisations seek trustworthy technologies, this role offers the chance to engage in high-impact projects influencing how global enterprises manage their technology and data compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough privacy and AI governance assessments, including gap analyses to ensure robust protections across personal data lifecycles and AI systems.
• Assist in designing and operationalising governance, risk, and compliance frameworks such as privacy policies and trustworthy technology controls, including second-line-of-defence activities like Trust & Safety functions.
• Monitor and interpret emerging regulatory changes in data privacy, AI, and online services; provide strategic insights to clients to maintain compliance ahead of evolving obligations.
• Create and deliver customised training and awareness programs to help clients embed privacy and trustworthy technology principles in their operations.
• Manage client compliance requirements such as Records of Processing Activities (ROPA), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), AI governance reviews, data retention policies, systemic risk assessments, and readiness for regulatory scrutiny.
• Conduct compliance evaluations of digital platforms and applications against regulations including GDPR, the AI Act, and the Digital Services Act, covering content moderation and transparency policies.
• Collaborate with partners to deploy privacy-enhancing technologies, advise on technical privacy implementations, and guide identity and access management aligned with privacy-by-design methodologies.
• Support and mentor junior team members by fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and coordinating tasks to enhance team capabilities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven client-facing expertise in data privacy, AI governance, or internet regulation advisory roles within professional services or similar industries, with capability to manage complex stakeholder relationships under pressure.
• In-depth knowledge of key privacy and AI regulatory frameworks including GDPR, EU AI Act, Digital Services Act (DSA), and Digital Markets Act (DMA), combined with the ability to apply these regulations into actionable recommendations.
• Technical understanding of data flows, IT architectures, and the privacy and governance implications across technology platforms; experience with privacy impact assessments and AI assessments is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and analytical talents, able to distil complex regulatory information into clear, persuasive reports and presentations for senior executives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as IAPP CIPP/E, AIGP, CIPM, CIPT, or a background in privacy engineering are advantageous.
• Project or programme management experience or certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
