Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and articulate Solution Architect specialized in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our expanding Cloud Solutions team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a trusted technical consultant, you will engage with clients to analyze their business challenges and develop scalable, secure GCP architectures that align with their digital transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre-sales engagements, conducting workshops and discovery sessions to assess client cloud requirements and business pain points.
- Demonstrate GCP capabilities, recommend best practices, and design tailored cloud solutions.
- Develop comprehensive solution proposals, architectural diagrams, proofs of concept, and technical documentation.
- Design cost-efficient, secure, and scalable GCP infrastructures, including compute, storage, networking, security, DevOps pipelines, and data services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate architectural feasibility and ensure smooth transitions from pre-sales to delivery phases.
- Provide technical expertise for bids, proposals, requests for proposals (RFPs), including API management and compliance considerations.
- Stay abreast of GCP product updates, certifications, and industry trends, contributing to internal knowledge bases and representing Abacus in external technical events.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum seven years of experience in cloud solution architecture or pre-sales, with a strong focus on GCP services.
- In-depth, hands-on experience with GCP components including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud VPN, Interconnect, IAM, Key Management Service (KMS), Security Command Center, Cloud Functions, and Apigee API Management.
- Proven ability to create proofs of concept, technical demos, and detailed architecture diagrams.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, security frameworks, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and cost optimization techniques.
- Expertise in API proxy design, policy creation, request flow management, and working with Apigee X and Apigee Hybrid environments.
Preferred Certifications
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- Google Cloud Engineer or Data Engineer certifications.
- Additional certifications from AWS or Azure are advantageous.
