Job description

Overview

Join a leading Australian FinTech scale-up as a Digital Product Manager based in Sydney CBD, working onsite three days a week. This role offers a competitive package of up to $160,000 base salary plus superannuation and bonus opportunities. You will have direct influence on making rapid product decisions that translate into commercial outcomes within days rather than quarters.

Team Structure and Work Environment

You will lead one of two lean squads under the Head of Product. Each squad consists of seven engineers and a dedicated designer, with data science and analytics experts integrated closely, enabling swift data-driven decision-making. The team operates without business analysts or delivery managers, fostering direct collaboration between product and engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set strategic direction for your squad and author detailed product requirements.
  • Manage multiple initiatives concurrently with agile sprint cadences—plan, execute, measure, and iterate rapidly.
  • Collaborate closely with a peer product manager overseeing the other squad without hierarchical constraints.
  • Engage hands-on in the development process, including requirement writing, engineering collaboration, and edge case testing.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced in managing several rapid, sprint-based product initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of owning consumer journey stages end-to-end (application, onboarding, checkout, or activation) with accountability for business metrics, not just delivery.
  • Highly self-sufficient with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Looker, Tableau or Power BI, independently interpreting performance data.
  • Commercially astute, able to link product efforts directly to revenue, margin, or quality improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive squad momentum through collaboration and proactive engagement.
  • Background in credit, fintech or payments domain is advantageous but not mandatory; fast learning and adaptability are valued.

Additional Information

This role is ideal for product managers seeking a dynamic, fast-paced environment with direct impact and minimal bureaucratic layers. Confidential discussions are welcome for interested candidates.
