About the Role
Join the Digital & Technology Team at APM Group as a Digital Enterprise Architect specializing in Business Applications. This senior role connects business strategies with pragmatic technology directions, shaping enterprise application strategies, architecture frameworks, and transformation roadmaps. You'll collaborate closely with business and technology leaders to align strategic priorities, operating models, and stakeholder needs into actionable application and technology plans across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain business capability models, define architecture principles, and create both current and target-state architectures along with feasible transition plans.
- Convert business strategies, operating model goals, and user requirements into clear directions for business applications and technology implementations.
- Design target-state architectures and roadmaps for core platforms including digital applications, corporate systems, and shared business capabilities.
- Analyze the application portfolio to assess functional suitability, identify duplication, technical debt, lifecycle risks, costs, user experience, and strategic fit; guide rationalization, consolidation, modernization, replacement, and retirement of applications.
- Lead architectural design from early idea stages through procurement, implementation, and operational transition.
- Ensure that solution designs meet criteria for security, privacy, accessibility, resilience, performance, interoperability, and supportability.
- Advocate for API-first, event-driven, modular, and reusable design approaches to enhance integration, flexibility, and speed of change.
- Collaborate with specialists in data, integration, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and AI to develop cohesive end-to-end solutions.
- Lead and participate in architecture governance, design authority forums, and exceptions processes, while mentoring architects and enhancing business application architecture capabilities through coaching and communities of practice.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a relevant tertiary degree in Information Technology or have equivalent professional experience.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in technology architecture, including considerable senior enterprise architecture roles.
- Demonstrated ability in creating enterprise strategies, business capability models, and target-state architectures.
- Strong expertise in enterprise business applications, portfolio management, platform rationalization, and modern solution patterns.
- Experience with major enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, case management, and digital experience systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud architectures, identity management, security, resilience, observability, and contemporary application delivery methodologies.
- Understanding of generative AI and AI-enabled application capabilities alongside awareness of privacy, security, and data protection considerations.
- Proven track record in developing architecture principles, governance frameworks, design assurance, and guiding technology investments.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing abilities at the executive level, capable of explaining complex architectural decisions in clear business terms.
- Proven leadership through influencing, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
