Job description
Role Summary
The Die Setter is tasked with overseeing and prioritizing the workflow on the secondary presses within the Stamping/Fabrication Department to ensure smooth, efficient production. This position involves organizing tasks on the workflow board to boost productivity, output, and operational effectiveness. Ideal candidates are reliable, motivated, and enjoy collaborating within a team environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support secondary operations and assist operators in the Stamping/Fabrication Department to maintain safe, efficient, and productive operations.
- Optimize daily production to meet customer demands and schedules.
- Help achieve departmental goals regarding quality, safety, delivery, and productivity.
- Guide secondary operators in reading and interpreting technical prints and specifications as required.
- Train operators on correct part loading techniques, understanding that loading processes differ between parts and dies.
- Quickly and professionally respond to assignments and requests from team leaders.
- Complete additional duties necessary to support departmental objectives.
- Foster a team-oriented culture with respect, fairness, and cooperation.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers effectively.
- Operate various production machines and tools.
- Maintain high quality standards and efficient production practices.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and environmental policies including spill prevention and proper handling of materials.
Candidate Requirements
- Preferably possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Eager to learn how to operate production equipment and acquire new skills.
- Willing to work overtime and Saturdays when needed.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and able to stand or sit for long durations.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Dependable attendance and a solid work ethic.
- Dedication to maintaining a safe workplace for oneself and others.
