Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Die Setter to join our Production team at the Airport Oaks facility in Auckland. This role involves hands-on technical responsibilities such as die changes, machine setup, process troubleshooting, and supporting the safe, efficient plastic moulding operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct die changes on injection and blow moulding machines.
• Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot plastic moulding processes.
• Carry out factory equipment startups and shutdowns as needed.
• Manage colour and material changes aligned with production demands.
• Operate cranes and forklift hoists to facilitate die changes and operational tasks.
• Perform cleaning and preventive as well as corrective maintenance on equipment, tools, and machines.
• Configure and supervise automation systems including robots, conveyors, and material handling systems.
• Detect, report, and escalate machine breakdowns, quality concerns, and process deviations.
• Provide prompt technical assistance to the production team.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in die setting within plastic moulding manufacturing.
• Practical experience handling large dies and complex machinery confidently.
• Relevant qualifications in plastics or mechanical engineering, or equivalent industry training.
• Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations and production workflows.
• Proficient in operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Familiarity with automated tooling and peripheral manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to conduct routine maintenance using hand tools, gauges, and indicators.
• Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on quality assurance.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and a collaborative team player.
