Job description
Role Overview
This position involves producing high-quality diagnostic images in line with Radiation Regulations and the Trust's operational protocols. It covers a comprehensive array of radiography services within the Radiology Directorate, including general radiography for Accident and Emergency, the Children's Hospital for Wales, as well as outpatient, inpatient, and GP referrals. The role also includes rotations into fluoroscopy, theatre imaging, and mobile radiography.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostic imaging duties efficiently, ensuring the daily workload is managed to deliver patient-focused care.
- Oversee and provide guidance to qualified colleagues, support staff, and radiography students.
Department and Development
The main department at University Hospital of Wales (UHW) is a thriving, collaborative environment with over 130 radiographers supporting various modalities such as MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, Cardiology, and Interventional Radiology. The hospital offers extensive training and professional development opportunities tailored toward Band 5 radiographers.
