About the Company
Our client is a leading global fintech infrastructure provider enabling customer engagement solutions for major banks and other consumer-centric sectors worldwide. Operating across more than 20 cities, they are expanding and require a DevOps Lead to spearhead the transformation of their team into a focused Cloud Platform unit.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will manage a team of six engineers, guiding the shift towards a full Cloud Platform group. This opportunity combines leadership responsibilities with direct technical involvement, particularly with tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions.
- Steer the cloud platform development roadmap by integrating feedback from stakeholders and aligning with technical vision.
- Architect and continuously enhance the platform prioritizing self-service capabilities and streamlined tooling.
- Advocate for a "you build it, you own it" ethos by establishing guardrails, developing robust tooling, and enhancing observability.
- Maintain high standards of platform reliability, security, and quality across infrastructure, codebases, and documentation.
- Drive initiatives that improve scalability, automation, system performance, continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD), and support self-service models.
- Manage cost efficiencies through financial operations (FinOps) without compromising reliability, velocity, or performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of five years of practical experience working with AWS cloud, Linux environments, Kubernetes orchestration, Terraform infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and observability systems involving complex and large-scale architectures.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and facilitating collaboration across multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of system fundamentals and cloud technologies coupled with excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledgeable in networking concepts, database management with Postgres and Redshift, as well as scripting for automation and the development of internal tools.
- Experience working in regulated or audited settings such as PCI-DSS, SOC2, or ISO27001 compliance environments.
