Role Overview

The DevOps/Platform Engineer will be responsible for architecting and managing the infrastructure and CI/CD platforms that underpin our cloud applications. This full-time, permanent position based in Markham, Ontario involves a hybrid working model. The role focuses on creating robust deployment pipelines, leveraging infrastructure-as-code tools, and establishing secure, scalable Azure cloud environments spanning multiple stages such as Dev, QA, and Production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, including creating reusable components and shared workflows.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code via Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Design and oversee Azure cloud architectures and environments across development, testing, and production stages.
• Configure and administer Azure networking components, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, and security policies.
• Define deployment standards and automation patterns across various repositories.
• Manage GitHub repositories, enforce branching strategies, and maintain pipeline governance.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to build secure and scalable cloud solutions.
• Identify and resolve issues related to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma or degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a platform engineer, cloud engineer, or similar roles.
• Proficient in designing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and building reusable workflows.
• Solid hands-on experience using Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure as code.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud services, including multi-environment setup (Dev, QA, Production).
• Familiarity with Azure networking components and security controls.
• Strong skills in managing Git and GitHub repositories.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with platform engineering or internal developer platform construction.
• Background working within enterprise cloud environments.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Expertise creating reusable infrastructure modules.
• Relevant certifications are advantageous.

Work Objectives

The engineer will contribute to engineering platform design and maintenance that supports cloud-based applications and developer teams within a largely automated, infrastructure-driven environment.

• Construct and optimize GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines with shared reusable workflows.
• Employ Terraform/Terragrunt to manage modular infrastructure as code.
• Establish clear separation of Azure environments for development, quality assurance, and production.
• Implement Azure networking frameworks including virtual networks, private connections, route management, and security enforcement.
• Enhance platform reliability and deployment automation across multiple teams and services.
• Partner with engineering teams to devise scalable cloud solutions and deployment methodologies.

Compensation Details

The anticipated salary for this role ranges from 110000 to 130000 Canadian dollars annually, depending on location, experience, skills, and internal parity.
