About CORTO
CORTO is an innovative software company focused on transforming the legal industry by delivering AI-powered tools that enhance the productivity of legal professionals. Our solutions automate routine tasks, optimize document handling, and support informed decision-making to allow lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants to concentrate on providing expert counsel.
Currently expanding rapidly from 80 to over 250 employees—with approximately 75% being developers and engineers—our Sydney team welcomes driven, intelligent, and empathetic individuals to join a dynamic, fast-evolving tech environment.
DevOps Team Overview
The DevOps team supports Acctivity, an AI-driven legal practice productivity platform that helps law firms enhance efficiency and reduce time spent on processes. We develop and manage scalable AWS infrastructure, collaborate closely with development, quality engineering, and InfoSec teams to maintain strong security practices. As a small, high-impact team, your contributions will be visible and critical to production systems.
Role and Responsibilities
- Construct and deploy AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation and our in-house deployment orchestrator, managing ECS services, Lambda functions, CloudFront distributions, and customized pipelines.
- Operate core AWS services including ECS, Lambda, EC2 for compute tasks; S3, CloudFront, and load balancers for storage and content delivery; and VPC, security groups, IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager for networking and security.
- Support databases such as RDS Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and MemoryDB.
- Utilize Datadog and CloudWatch for monitoring, alerting, and logging to promptly detect and resolve issues.
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation to ensure platform reliability.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, QA engineers, and InfoSec teams, sharing knowledge and resolving application issues collectively.
- Use tools like Jira, Bitbucket, and Jira Service Management within the Atlassian suite for workflow management.
- Gain exposure to AI infrastructure technologies on AWS such as Bedrock and AgentCore as the product scales.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong expertise in core AWS services spanning compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code, specifically CloudFormation.
- Experience in Python scripting.
- Knowledge of Git and pull request workflows.
- Familiarity with containers and Linux system fundamentals.
- Understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, routing, DNS, and security groups.
- Ability to analyze logs and metrics for troubleshooting and articulate findings effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience
- A minimum of three years in roles related to DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, cloud operations, or infrastructure management.
- Practical experience managing production workloads on AWS environments.
- Possession of AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer - Associate, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional is preferred.
Additional Valuable Experience
- Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog is advantageous.
Personal Attributes
- Enjoy ownership of production systems and take pride in maintaining them.
- Demonstrate analytical curiosity by investigating logs and metrics to identify root causes and communicate these clearly.
- Prefer collaborative teamwork with developers, QA, and security teams rather than isolated work.
- Committed to sharing knowledge to uplift the whole team’s skills.
- Interested in evolving AI infrastructure on AWS platforms.
Company Culture and Benefits
- Your contributions make a meaningful difference by supporting legal firms and community service.
- Empowered to influence projects and decisions, not just a small part of a large system.
- Join a group of committed and passionate colleagues.
- Operate within a well-funded, global LegalTech organization, part of ATI Global.
- Enjoy flexible and hybrid work arrangements promoting idea sharing and collaboration.
- Access abundant professional growth and learning opportunities within a scaling business environment.
- Participate in social events, celebrations, sports, and unique activities such as sailing and yacht outings.
- Benefit from wellness initiatives including extra time off and gym memberships.
- Engage in a fast-moving tech space with continuous innovation demands.
- Access the LEAP Home program to assist in purchasing your primary home, exclusive to ATI Group employees.
