Role Overview

We seek a proactive and skilled DevOps Engineer to oversee and optimize our cloud infrastructure, hosting environments, firewall configurations, and server management. In this critical role, you will maintain the security, stability, performance, and availability of both our digital platforms and internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance cloud infrastructure and hosting environments to guarantee high availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
• Administer cloud platforms effectively, including virtual machines, storage, networking, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Continuously monitor infrastructure metrics, resource usage, and system uptime to anticipate and resolve emerging problems.
• Maintain server ecosystems by installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting hardware and software components.
• Ensure ongoing server maintenance, including OS updates, security patching, and configuration oversight.
• Control server access through user permissions and authentication procedures to uphold security standards.
• Implement and manage network security devices such as firewalls and VPNs; monitor network traffic to detect suspicious activities.
• Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and take remedial actions to strengthen infrastructure safeguards.
• Create and sustain automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure administration and operational workflows.
• Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate seamless application deployment and ensure reliable updates.
• Support infrastructure-as-code methodologies using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Collaborate closely with development and IT teams to optimize deployment workflows, system robustness, and application performance.
• Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and alert systems for early issue detection and rapid response.
• Regularly perform data backups, test restoration protocols, and develop comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Provide technical support and infrastructure planning, including capacity management, technology upgrades, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Document infrastructure architecture, configuration details, access controls, and operational procedures comprehensively.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proven experience managing cloud hosting services and environments.
• Competence in scripting languages and automation tools to facilitate infrastructure management.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and address infrastructure incidents efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications relevant to cloud technologies.
• Experience in supporting heavily trafficked websites, digital publishing platforms, or content-rich online systems.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability assessment, and incident response practices.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
