Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves designing, deploying, and managing DevOps pipelines and infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises systems, ensuring efficient application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software delivery.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate provisioning and management of infrastructure.
  • Deploy, operate, and sustain applications in cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Administer containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Monitor system uptime, performance metrics, security, and capacity planning.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to infrastructure, applications, and deployment processes.
  • Implement comprehensive logging systems, alert mechanisms, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Enforce security best practices through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Oversee source code management strategies, release cycles, and environment configurations.
  • Enhance platform stability, scalability, and increase deployment velocity.
  • Create automation scripts and tools to minimize manual operational efforts.
  • Maintain updated technical documentation, including runbooks and system architecture diagrams.
  • Participate actively in incident response procedures, root cause analyses, and rotation-based on-call support.
  • Work collaboratively with different teams to advocate DevOps methodologies and continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or systems administration roles.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one leading cloud provider—AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong foundation in Linux system administration and networking concepts.
  • Proficient in CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Proven ability with Infrastructure as Code solutions like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Experience utilizing configuration management tools including Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Solid practical knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Skillful in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiar with monitoring platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or ELK stack.
  • Understanding of identity and access management, secrets management, and cloud security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified in relevant cloud or Kubernetes technologies.
  • Experience maintaining production-grade Kubernetes clusters.
  • Knowledge of GitOps platforms like Argo CD or Flux.
  • Familiarity with service mesh architectures, serverless technologies, and microservices design.
  • Experience in database management including tuning and disaster recovery.
  • Awareness of Site Reliability Engineering concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.
  • Track record of supporting large-scale, resilient distributed systems.

Performance Metrics

  • Frequency of deployments and lead time for change implementation.
  • Application and infrastructure uptime and availability.
  • Mean time to detect and recover from incidents.
  • Rate of deployment failures.
  • Proportion of infrastructure provisioned via automation.
  • Compliance with security and governance standards.
  • Reduction in manual operational workload.
