DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a proficient DevOps Engineer to join our team in Mumbai and contribute to the development and maintenance of a secure, scalable fintech platform. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the engineering team to apply security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain application environments to ensure stability, scalability, security, and optimal performance.
• Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Design and implement new deployment policies, configuration management procedures, patch planning, and capacity upgrades to support rapid growth.
• Set up effective monitoring and alerting systems to promptly identify issues and notify engineers.
• Develop runbooks and processes aimed at minimizing service outages; intervene preemptively to prevent user impact and automate repetitive tasks.
• Automate production processes to eliminate manual interventions.
• Identify and manage reliability and security risks, preparing systems to handle peak loads, DDoS attacks, and human errors.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across software, applications, and network stacks.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables independently within a self-organized team.
• Engage in continuous learning through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least 2 years of comprehensive Linux server administration experience, including patching, RPM packaging, networking, performance optimization, user management, and security.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing highly available, secure, scalable, and self-healing systems on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts with a focus on cloud environments and a solid grasp of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Experience applying industry-standard security best practices, particularly those recommended by Azure.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting and at least one other high-level scripting language.
• Basic familiarity with observability tools such as ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, and Signoz.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure testing, preferably using Pulumi or Terraform.
• Practical knowledge in building and managing virtual machines and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the capability to present technical challenges and initiatives clearly to diverse stakeholders.
