Overview
This pivotal role involves overseeing development planning and project control functions to guarantee that all project plans, schedules, cost management, reporting, and coordination deliverables are meticulously executed in alignment with development goals, project targets, and Golf Saudi's governance protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of development planning and project controls to ensure compliance with established plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Create and continuously update project schedules, cost plans, monitoring trackers, and progress reports that enable informed decision-making.
- Coordinate inputs for budget development and track project expenditures relative to approved baselines.
- Perform cost and variance analyses along with progress assessments to pinpoint challenges and propose corrective measures.
- Assist in generating precise project cost estimations, forecasting, and planning assumptions.
- Oversee project expense management in collaboration with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Align cross-functional planning efforts ensuring cost, schedule, scope, and delivery goals are harmonized.
- Support execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing project delivery efficiency, planning precision, and cost control effectiveness.
- Identify and escalate risks impacting project delivery, costs, scheduling, and control performance.
- Produce regular cost, scheduling, and project control reports ensuring they are accurate, consistent, and relevant.
- Communicate updates on planning and controls clearly and promptly to all stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous refinement of processes related to development planning, cost management, and project controls.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise personnel engaged in cost planning, scheduling, reporting, and project control tasks.
- Enhance team capabilities in cost estimation, analytical techniques, planning, and project scheduling methodologies.
- Provide feedback on team performance, distribute workload efficiently, and identify training needs.
- Organize training sessions and promote knowledge sharing to improve planning and control practices.
- Delegate tasks within the team to maximize productivity and meet project demands.
- Manage everyday team challenges, escalating issues as necessary to ensure uninterrupted project progress.
- Ensure that project scheduling activities are closely aligned with cost control objectives and adhere to project timelines.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- At least six years of substantial experience in development planning and project control, ideally within real estate, construction, development, or consulting sectors.
- Technical proficiency with MS Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint), project control and scheduling software like MS Project or Primavera, and expertise in cost tracking, reporting, and schedule monitoring.
- Impeccable communication abilities, excellent stakeholder coordination, strong problem-solving aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, capable team supervision, and adeptness at prioritizing tasks under pressure.
- Operational excellence, teamwork, communication, commitment, ownership, adaptability, courage, inspirational leadership, and results orientation.
- Knowledge and skills in construction management, development planning and advisory, feasibility analysis, project management, quality management, scoping and contracting, stakeholder engagement, and vendor relations.
