Role Overview

As a Developer Productivity Engineer, you will support QVAC teams by developing and maintaining tools that streamline software development, review, testing, and delivery processes with minimal friction. Your focus will be on both desktop and mobile applications, their shared runtime, AI components, and related skill packages. You'll build developer tools, integrate AI agents within workflows, and enhance automation and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, integrate, and maintain developer tools and AI agents, ensuring necessary repository guides and integrations are in place for effective operation.
• Create and manage AI agents within CI and scheduled workflows to analyze failures, suggest fixes, and provide actionable insights for engineers.
• Enhance automated pull request reviews by improving accuracy and reducing unnecessary alerts.
• Develop scripts and checks targeting code complexity, size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions, collaborating with package owners to set thresholds and execute targeted refactoring.
• Refine development environments as well as testing, build, and release workflows to support reliable verification by engineers and AI agents.
• Work with engineering teams to prioritize tooling improvements, drive adoption through documentation and onboarding, and track effectiveness, reliability, and operational expenses.

Sample projects might include AI agents that detect CI failures, diagnose performance issues, or alert on architectural changes, with cooperative workflow design alongside engineer feedback.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proven experience in building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation, particularly with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Demonstrated practical use and integration of AI coding tools or agents, with careful evaluation of their limitations and results requiring human review.
• Familiarity with Git, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, and thorough debugging of build, test, or integration failures.
• A strong commitment to producing maintainable code, designing meaningful automated checks, and performing refactoring that preserves functionality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a globally distributed remote team, with excellent English communication skills.
