Role Summary

We seek a Developer Productivity Engineer to enhance development processes for QVAC desktop and mobile applications and their runtime, AI components, and skill packages. This role involves creating and maintaining developer tools, embedding AI agents in engineering workflows, improving code quality measures, and automating delivery pipelines. You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify high-impact improvements, lead their implementation, and provide continuous support to foster adoption of these tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, integrate, and sustain developer tools and AI agents, ensuring they have the necessary repository guidance and integrations.
• Design and operate AI agents within CI and scheduled workflows to analyze failures, suggest fixes, and supply actionable evidence for engineers.
• Enhance automated pull request reviews by refining accuracy of findings and minimizing reviewer distractions.
• Create code quality scripts and checks focused on complexity, function and file size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions, while working with package maintainers to set thresholds and target refactoring efforts.
• Optimize development environments, testing procedures, and build and release workflows to enable reliable verification of changes by engineers and AI agents alike.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize improvements, facilitate adoption through documentation and onboarding, and track performance metrics including effectiveness, stability, and operational costs.

Example Projects

Projects could include developing agents that diagnose CI failures, detect compatibility and performance regressions, and highlight changes affecting package interfaces or architecture. These workflows will be developed and refined in partnership with end users.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining developer tools or automation systems with strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Hands-on expertise using and integrating AI coding tools or agents, along with the capability to evaluate their limitations, validate outputs, and enable human oversight.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration breakdowns.
• Strong commitment to code quality, including writing maintainable code, automating useful checks, and performing refactoring that safeguards functionality.
• Ability to work autonomously, collaborate effectively with engineers, and communicate clearly in English within a fully remote, global team environment.
