About the Role
This role is for a Developer Advocate located in Saudi Arabia, who will forge connections with developers by leveraging technical expertise, engaging with developer communities, and delivering practical educational content. The position requires hands-on familiarity with web technologies and APIs, public speaking skills, content creation, and relationship management. The Developer Advocate will participate in conferences, meetups, webinars, podcasts, online forums, and industry events to represent developer interests and enhance community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the organization at various developer-oriented events, including conferences, meetups, webinars, podcasts, panels, and industry forums.
- Scout and assess opportunities for speaking engagements, sponsorships, partnerships, and community involvement aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, workshops, live demos, webinars, and panel discussions tailored for developer audiences.
- Establish and nurture relationships with developers, community leaders, event organizers, technology partners, and technical advocates.
- Support and expand a network of external advocates sharing insights on web data, APIs, and developer technologies.
- Engage consistently with developer communities through social media, forums, events, open-source projects, and other channels.
- Create diverse technical content such as tutorials, articles, videos, presentations, demos, and code samples to facilitate adoption and understanding of tools.
- Apply practical solutions to challenges involving web scraping, data extraction, API integration, and web data handling.
- Author technical articles for company blogs and relevant third-party outlets.
- Seek out and contribute to developer and open-source communities.
- Advocate for developers within marketing and the wider organization, ensuring community feedback influences strategic decisions.
- Identify and enact enhancements to developer documentation.
- Produce and share relevant content on social media platforms targeting technical audiences.
- Investigate emerging technologies such as large language model (LLM) applications and AI agents, illustrating how dependable web data can empower AI-first solutions.
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of events, presentations, partnerships, content efforts, and community initiatives to inform continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum three years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, community engagement, or a comparable technical position.
- Demonstrable presence or following within relevant developer or technical communities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of web technologies, API development and integration, web scraping, and data extraction techniques.
- Solid proficiency in Python programming.
- A sincere interest in web data extraction technologies and their ecosystems.
- Passion for aiding developers and technical users to learn, resolve issues, and embrace new technologies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including public speaking and delivering technical presentations.
- Proven experience with developer communities, social media engagement, blogging, or creation of technical content.
- Experience in organizing community-building activities and hosting events is advantageous.
- Highly motivated, able to prioritize tasks effectively, and organized.
- Capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.
- Strong skills in building relationships and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with Scrapy, headless browsers, or other web scraping technologies is a plus but not mandatory.
