Job description
Role Overview
As a Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up and configuring desktop computers and laptops to meet office and project demands. This includes installing operating systems, software, and managing network configurations to ensure smooth and efficient workstation operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up new desktops and laptops with appropriate software and hardware configurations.
- Install and configure operating systems, necessary drivers, and essential applications.
- Configure network details such as IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways, and DNS settings.
- Connect devices to wired or wireless networks and troubleshoot any connectivity issues encountered.
- Install and set up printers and other peripheral devices as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve common issues related to desktops, laptops, operating systems, software, and hardware components.
- Perform routine system checks, carry out updates, and conduct maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Create or configure user accounts and assist with basic system access setups.
- Support administrative tasks including preparing invoices, purchase orders (POs), quotations/BQs, and delivery challans (DCs) when required.
- Manage coordination of material deliveries to client sites and monitor timely receipt of items.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to support operational needs.
- Continuously learn new tools, workflows, products, and responsibilities to stay aligned with evolving business and project requirements.
