Desktop Engineer

Overview

We are seeking skilled Desktop L1 Engineers to provide support for IT operations within warehouse facilities. This role requires comprehensive technical skills covering end-user computing devices, basic networking, warehouse-specific IT equipment, and asset management to ensure continuous and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, set up, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, thin clients, and docking stations.
• Provide support for warehouse devices such as barcode scanners, handheld terminals, thermal and label printers, laser printers, and weighing scale interfaces.
• Conduct L1 troubleshooting for network components including LAN, Wi-Fi, network switches, access points, cabling, patch panels, and internet connectivity.
• Perform passive network maintenance tasks like LAN and port patching, rack organization, cable management, and structured cabling inspections.
• Test LAN cables, validate network points, and assess wireless signal strength to maintain network stability.
• Diagnose and replace hardware parts including RAM, storage drives, power supplies, peripherals, and adapters.
• Install Windows OS, device drivers, Microsoft 365, antivirus software, and enterprise applications.
• Handle Install, Move, Add, and Change (IMAC) tasks for devices and warehouse IT infrastructure.
• Manage IT assets through activities such as asset tagging, inventory control, stock reconciliation, movement tracking, lifecycle handling, and audits.
• Use ITSM tools to log, track, and resolve incidents, adhering to SLA requirements.
• Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and ISPs for hardware replacements, network issue resolution, and service restorations.
• Ensure high uptime of warehouse IT systems with minimal operational interruptions.

Candidate Profile

• 2 to 5 years experience in desktop support roles within warehouse, logistics, quick commerce, e-commerce, or manufacturing sectors.
• Prior hands-on exposure to warehouse IT infrastructure and large-scale asset management is essential.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts including nights, weekends to support round-the-clock warehouse operations.
• Preference for early joiners.
