Daylight is a distinguished independent creative and technology studio based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), known for crafting ideas that integrate deeply into people’s lives, not just their social media feeds. Their diverse portfolio includes brands, campaigns, and digital tools across sectors such as global health, media, and public services, handling clients ranging from emerging start-ups to well-established national brands.

Role Overview

As a Designer at Daylight located in Auckland, you will merge creativity, craftsmanship, and usability to develop compelling design experiences encompassing brand identity systems, campaign content, and digital products. This position bridges graphic and digital design, focusing on executing and refining concepts generated by senior team members and collaborating closely with creative and product teams to produce scalable, multi-channel ideas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Creative Director and creative teams in executing campaign rollouts.
  • Develop and enhance brand guidelines to maintain consistency across various media.
  • Create and update creative assets, reports, and visuals aligned with existing design systems.
  • Convert design systems and brand identities into seamless digital experiences.
  • Work alongside the development team to build and expand digital design systems.
  • Contribute to new business and pitch projects by visually bringing concepts to fruition.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess over six years of experience within a creative agency or digital studio setting.
  • Hands-on experience in both graphic and digital design projects.
  • Proficient user of design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Excellent craftsmanship with a keen eye for detail and a solid grasp of information hierarchy to simplify complexity.
  • Thrives in collaborative, cross-functional team environments.
  • Adaptable to ambiguity and capable of creatively tackling complex challenges.
  • A portfolio that evidences strong design skills and thoughtful approach.

Work Environment & Perks

  • Engage with projects that make a tangible impact on real-world issues.
  • Enjoy flexible work policies that prioritize work-life balance and wellbeing.
  • Receive a quarterly wellbeing allowance through partnership with Extraordinary.
  • Benefit from an extra day of leave on your birthday and a week of "work-from-anywhere" days annually.
  • Work within a high-trust, collaborative culture welcoming new ideas.
  • Support and investment in your professional learning and development.
  • Access to a well-stocked snack and drink pantry.
  • A dog-friendly headquarters in Morningside close to public transport.
  • Participate in team lunches, coffee meetups, and Friday social events.
