Role Overview

The Design Manager will oversee design teams within a modular construction and modern methods of construction (MMC) framework. This position involves managing design workflows to ensure quality, collaboration, and alignment with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize, attend, and facilitate departmental meetings to drive progress and communication.
• Ensure all design outputs meet quality standards and adhere to all directives.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and other departments to fulfill design objectives.
• Align design deliverables with client requirements and expectations.
• Assign tasks appropriately and review completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Generate innovative design concepts and present them clearly to team members and clients.
• Develop and monitor budgets to maintain financial viability.
• Mentor and motivate design staff to help them meet both personal and project goals.
• Lead training sessions on design updates and new business protocols.
• Encourage and support internal and external design teams for optimal performance.
• Strive for timely production of high-quality, clear structural drawings and designs.
• Participate in preparing design delivery schedules in collaboration with clients, project managers, design managers, and consultants.

Experience and Qualifications

• At least seven years of experience in Tier 1 or Tier 2 contracting, modular construction, or design consultancy environments.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD design software.
• Strong skills in MS Office applications.
• NFQ Level 7 qualification in Architectural Technology, Civil & Structural Engineering, Architecture, or an equivalent field.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Creative mindset coupled with strong attention to detail.
• Effective organizational, time management, and multitasking capabilities.
