Job description

Position Overview

We seek a seasoned Design Lead specializing in NVH engineering focused on automotive interior insulation components. This role entails responsibility for product design, CAD-based modeling, feasibility evaluations, supplier collaboration, and close cooperation with multidisciplinary teams to meet quality, cost efficiency, and performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of interior insulation parts and related NVH solutions in automotive contexts.
  • Develop and update 3D engineering models using CAD software.
  • Assess manufacturing and assembly viability.
  • Benchmark existing designs and contribute to optimization efforts.
  • Manage interactions with suppliers and assist in component fitment, validation, and vehicle integration processes.
  • Drive value engineering and cost reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate with various departments ensuring on-time project completion.
  • Oversee product development life cycle from conceptualization through production release.

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in automotive product design and development focusing on NVH or insulation components like dash insulators, hood insulators, fender blockers, silencers, etc.
  • Strong grasp of component and system-level design principles.
  • Proficiency in UG NX, CATIA V5/V6, and PLM/Teamcenter platforms.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and assembly feasibility.
  • Experience collaborating with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
  • Effective communication, presentation abilities, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in supplier coordination and product development procedures.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with manufacturing techniques including thermoforming, blow molding, compression molding, and polyurethane molding.
  • Exposure to NVH testing and validation practices.
  • Background in value engineering and process improvement initiatives.
