About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SolidWorks Design Engineer with over three decades of expertise in mechanical design and proficiency in SolidWorks software. The ideal candidate will be involved in creating detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, designing jigs, fixtures, machine components, and assemblies while incorporating manufacturing insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Design functional jigs, fixtures, machinery parts, and mechanical assemblies.
- Produce precise drawings that include Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), dimensions, tolerances, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Apply understanding of machining and fabrication processes to ensure manufacturability.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize designs for practicality and manufacturability.
- Revise and enhance existing designs based on customer feedback or production adjustments.
- Analyze designs for operational efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience and mastery of SolidWorks.
- Strong foundation in mechanical design concepts and principles.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining and fabrication.
- Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings thoroughly.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards and tolerancing practices.
- Effective problem-solving aptitude and communication skills.
- Capability to work autonomously and manage project timelines effectively.
Experience
At least 36 years of mechanical design experience, preferably involving jigs and fixtures, automation, tool and die making, machine design, precision engineering, and manufacturing environments.
Qualification
Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field.
Eligibility
Applicants holding a Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech degree in any specialization are eligible to apply.
Location
The position is based in Ambattur, India.
Salary
The offered annual compensation ranges between 350000 and 500000 INR.
