Job Overview

The Design Assurance Engineer II will be tasked with implementing, validating, and maintaining standardized test methods at the Galway site. This role supports both R&D and production teams by conducting product testing and characterization, as well as collaborating with R&D to establish new testing protocols tailored to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the test laboratory and its operations.
• Conduct product benchmark testing aligned with design specifications.
• Investigate product failures both in-house and from field returns.
• Introduce, update, and sustain test methodologies as needed.
• Perform validation testing pertaining to changes in manufacturing processes.
• Manage projects related to testing and quality assurance.
• Facilitate transfer and implementation of new testing methods and equipment.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including procurement, inventory, quality control, production planning, testing, and layout.
• Understanding of engineering theories and various work measurement techniques.
• Capability to apply engineering principles to define, design, research, develop, maintain, and control costs of processes and equipment.

Education and Experience

A degree in Engineering or Science with 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Proficient working with parts and equipment requiring close tolerances.
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and self-motivation.

Working Conditions and Reporting

This is primarily a day-shift position; however, flexibility with shifts may be necessary depending on project demands. The role reports directly to the Regulatory Affairs and Design Assurance Manager outside the US.
