About the Position

This permanent full-time or part-time (30-40 hours weekly) Dermatologist role is based at Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital, and Hutt Hospital, serving the Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley region. As one of the four key Dermatology hubs in New Zealand, the position demands strong surgical skills in dermatology alongside medical dermatology expertise. The successful candidate will provide expert consultation services and contribute to ensuring high-quality care for patients. Additionally, the role involves teaching and supervising colleagues, with plans to enlarge the service in the future.

Service and Team

The Dermatology Service offers comprehensive care for the region, including Hutt Valley and Porirua, and promotes leadership in achieving annual targets and advancing service development initiatives. Capital, Coast, and Hutt Valley district has over 6,000 full-time staff and includes three hospitals and a health center across the Wellington area.

Candidate Requirements

• Vocational registration in Internal Medicine (dermatology) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent qualification to enable vocational registration with MCNZ.
• Collaborative working skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Consistently deliver high standards of medical care.
• Relevant training and experience in dermatology.
