Derivatives Trader

Overview

The Quant Trading team at Crypto.com manages trades and risks tied to derivative instruments like options, futures, and swaps. You will be part of a high-impact environment, developing and executing trading strategies to support quantitative decision-making in fast-moving markets.

Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Derivatives Trader to join our trading desk in Dublin. This role entails spotting and capitalizing on opportunities across perpetual futures, options, and other derivatives, while overseeing portfolio risks and enhancing execution processes. You will also aid in creating analytical tools to support trading decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Discover and profit from trading prospects in perpetual futures, options, and the derivatives spectrum.
• Create and implement strategies that emphasize capital efficiency and risk-adjusted returns.
• Continuously supervise portfolio performance, including Greeks exposure (delta, gamma, vega, theta), and vital risk metrics in real-time.
• Help design and improve post-trade analytic tools and dashboards to support better decision-making processes.
• Identify and resolve trading infrastructure challenges swiftly during operations.
• Analyze unusual strategy performance or execution issues, applying corrective actions as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in quantitative disciplines like Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Between 5 to 10 years of profitable trading experience on leading trading desks within banks, proprietary trading firms, or market-making entities, across any asset classes.
• Proven aptitude in formulating, managing, and scaling derivative trading strategies.
• Deep knowledge of derivatives pricing, hedging methods, and risk management practices.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, alpha research, and problem-solving abilities applicable under time pressure.
• Proficiency in Python and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; coding exposure to C++, R, or KDB+/Q is advantageous.
• Passion for and understanding of cryptocurrency markets alongside traditional asset classes.
• Self-driven, flexible, and effective in high-pressure, high-stakes settings with significant accountability.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across trading, risk, and technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience trading crypto derivatives such as perpetuals, options, or structured products is a plus.
• Hands-on with real-time risk systems and automation in execution infrastructure.
