Department Supervisor

About the Role

Join The Home Depot in Prince George, British Columbia, as a Department Supervisor and play a pivotal role in guiding associates toward success while delivering exceptional customer service. This full-time onsite position involves leadership responsibilities that include coaching, training, and motivating team members to maximize their potential. You'll collaborate closely with Store Management, Operations teams, and external partners to support business goals and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate associates to develop strong relationships with customers and peers, ensuring outstanding customer service and driving sales through expert merchandising and product knowledge.
• Manage staffing levels in the department to align with business demands.
• Oversee associate performance by providing development opportunities, continuous communication, recognition, and constructive feedback.
• Analyze sales and operational reports alongside the assistant manager to recommend improvements for inventory management, overhead organization, and cross-merchandising strategies that boost sales.
• Maintain full stock availability and organized overhead plans at all times.
• Address and escalate customer issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
• Communicate key store sales data, events, and promotions through rallies and regular department meetings.
• Enforce compliance with Safety and Asset Protection guidelines, clearly communicating standards to all department members.

Qualifications and Skills

• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Previous supervisory experience leading teams, ideally between one to two years.
