Department Head, Retail Store

Work Details

This is a permanent position requiring 44 hours per week at a supermarket environment with some noise and odors. Public transportation access is available for commute.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily business operations and supervise a team of 16 to 20 employees across various areas.
• Assign work duties to sales staff and manage work schedules effectively.
• Recruit new employees and facilitate training or arrange training programs for staff development.
• Oversee merchandising activities, sales transactions, and prepare related reports on sales volume and personnel.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and manage supply shortages promptly.
• Maintain inventory control and conduct quality assurance checks on products and services.

Working Conditions and Requirements

• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced setting under pressure with extended periods of walking and standing.
• High school graduation certificate or equivalent education is required.
• Between three and five years of relevant experience needed.
• Workplace is non-smoking but noisy with occasional odors.
