Role Overview

The Dentist position in Madurai is a full-time, on-site role tasked with delivering comprehensive oral healthcare. Responsibilities involve diagnosis, treatment planning, and performing preventive, restorative, and minor surgical procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, crowns, and basic periodontal treatments. Daily duties include conducting detailed patient examinations, analyzing diagnostic tests and radiographs, educating patients on oral hygiene and treatment choices, and maintaining meticulous clinical documentation. This role requires coordination with dental assistants and other personnel to ensure efficient patient management, strict adherence to infection control protocols, and prompt follow-up care. The Dentist must maintain high clinical standards, communicate effectively and respectfully, and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications and Expectations

• Proficient clinical skills in diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative procedures, basic endodontics, and periodontal care.
• Capability in patient evaluation including medical/dental history-taking, radiograph interpretation, and management of common dental emergencies.
• Strong knowledge of infection control procedures, sterilization, and compliance with regulatory safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to clarify treatment options, secure informed consent, and establish trust with a diverse patient base.
• Good organizational skills including accurate charting, record maintenance, and effective time management in a busy clinical environment.
• Possession of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree or equivalent, with valid dental license or registration for practice in the jurisdiction.
• Preference for candidates with prior clinical dental experience; however, new graduates who demonstrate strong clinical training and eagerness to learn are welcome.
