About Lavarack Health Centre

Located within Lavarack Barracks in Townsville, Queensland, the largest Australian Army base, the centre provides comprehensive primary medical and dental services to approximately 8,000 personnel. The facility includes multiple healthcare departments and maintains a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward, operating mainly on weekdays from 07:30 to 16:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures, ensuring smooth operation of clinical activities.
• Prepare and maintain clinical tools, equipment, and treatment rooms adhering to strict infection control protocols.
• Support patient care by promoting oral health and assisting with administrative duties including patient record management.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of Certificate III in Dental Assisting or an equivalent credential.
• A minimum of 2 years experience chair-side in a dental clinical environment.
• Current certifications in First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009).
• Comprehensive knowledge of infection control and clinical hygiene standards.
• Excellent communication abilities combined with a compassionate and teamwork-oriented mindset.
