Delivery Unit Leader - Architecture, Engineering & Platform

About the Role

The Delivery Unit Leader will spearhead the architecture and engineering efforts for platform and infrastructure initiatives, strategically guiding hybrid cloud, on-premises, and sovereign platform environments. The individual will manage mission-critical, multi-technology projects and drive innovation in AI and data platforms within enterprise settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructure encompassing compute, storage, networking, and enterprise platform environments.
• Leverage deep expertise in enterprise data and integration platforms, specializing in Oracle systems and Informatica ETL/data management tools.
• Lead modern platform engineering efforts adopting Kubernetes, cloud-native solutions, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Define and govern engineering strategies, delivery frameworks, and architectural standards within the Data & AI Technology practice.
• Institutionalize best practices for hybrid cloud, on-premises, and sovereign platforms across diverse client ecosystems.
• Continuously enhance toolchains and delivery capabilities, including DevSecOps, MLOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Contribute to market strategies by developing reusable engineering components, platform blueprints, and reference architectures as client offerings.
• Act as the leading authority on enterprise architecture, platform design, and AI infrastructure strategies, steering governance forums and technical review boards.
• Ensure solution architectures prioritize scalability, security, resilience, and lasting operational viability.
• Promote engineering innovation through emerging technologies such as edge computing and sovereign AI platforms.
• Manage end-to-end engineering delivery across architecture, infrastructure, data platforms, and AI deployment projects, maintaining execution excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Enforce standards for technical delivery across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments adhering to quality and performance benchmarks.
• Supervise engineering teams to deliver platform, infrastructure, and architectural solutions efficiently across simultaneous engagements.
• Implement and uphold DevSecOps, MLOps, and platform engineering standards to guarantee consistency, automation, and security compliance.
• Lead hands-on resolution of critical technical and infrastructure challenges and handle escalations during delivery.
• Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise data platforms including Oracle, Informatica, and cloud-native ecosystems.
• Oversee infrastructure delivery encompassing compute, storage, networking, and Kubernetes to maintain scalable and high-performance systems.
• Assure platform resiliency through thorough capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery drills.
• Enforce security standards aligned with cybersecurity frameworks, regulations, and sovereign data policies.
• Lead, nurture, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, platform specialists, and MLOps experts.
• Develop technical competency models and career pathways ensuring ongoing upskilling and capability development.
• Manage resource allocation across projects optimizing utilization and ensuring timely delivery.
• Track engineering KPIs, maintain governance and quality assurance, and regularly update senior leadership and governance bodies.
• Foster a practice culture aligned with organizational values and ways of working.
• Support career advancement by providing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
• Contribute to recruitment, retention, and succession planning activities for the team.
• Promote employee engagement and retention through dynamic leadership and development opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in enterprise architecture, infrastructure engineering, cloud platforms, data platform delivery, or AI implementation.
• At least 5 years in leadership positions managing Data/AI or similar technology functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Master's degree (MBA, MSc) from a reputable institution is strongly preferred.
